Dr. Adrian Velasquez
I always knew I wanted to do something in the medical profession I just didn’t know where I was being called. In high school I was lucky enough to have a chance to mentor/shadow a chiropractor in my home town. This is where I began my journey in becoming a chiropractor and fell in love with being able to help people live a life of health and wellness.
From there I went on to receive my bachelors of science in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from the University of New Mexico. I then continued on to Parker College of Chiropractic in Dallas, TX where I received my Doctorate of Chiropractic. In my last trimester at Parker College of Chiropractic, I participated in the Study Abroad program that sent me to Mexico City to work at the clinic of the Universidad Estatal del Valle de Ecatepec. In addition to my training outside of Parker College of Chiropractic, I also received specialized training in A.R.T. (Active Release Technique) and am one of the few nationally certified A.R.T. practitioners in the state of NM.
Chiropractic is my passion and truly means very much to me. Not only have I walked the walk to be a chiropractor, but I have also walked the walk through the miracles of what chiropractic can do. I had a huge near death experience that placed me in a coma for a little over 2 weeks. Doctors were baffled by what had occurred to me and did not give my family and friends much hope for me to live.
Thankfully God did wake me up, but upon awaking from the coma it put me in a position where I could not walk on my own; my balance and coordination were off, I had trouble with speech, tingling and numbness in my hands, and vision difficulties. I was a patient in physical rehab for another 2 weeks to work on these handicaps. As soon as I got out of rehab, I began to receive regular chiropractic adjustments and with one chiropractic adjustment the tingling and numbness in my hands subsided! Continuing with care, my speech came back, vision came back, balance and coordination came back, and I was running in the foothills of Albuquerque, NM less than one month of being out of the hospital! Chiropractic works and you can rest assured because it gave me my life back, allowing my God given Innate Intelligence to work optimally by removing the interference in my body! Not only can chiropractic help with these symptoms as they have with me, but many more! With a strong sense of faith in God and chiropractic, I will give patients hope, for from hope we have happiness, and through happiness we have wellness, which is a way of life we should all have and live. I plan on being an instrument of God’s healing to help patients live a life of chiropractic health and wellness and give them their life back as it did mine!
